Education & Health Equity: Utilizing CHNA Data in the Classroom
OnDemand Webinar Now Available
Presented by:
- Rachel Walter, Innovation Catalyst, Adjunct Faculty at Lee Health
- Malia Ford, Community Affairs Intern at Lee Health
In addition to guiding their own community action planning, Lee Health began taking their CHNA data to a new place: the classroom. Partnering with Florida Gulf Coast University, the organizations launched a program for students to gain firsthand experience in strategizing public health initiatives. This combination of academic and hands-on education lets students explore CHNA data and engage with Lee Health employees to identify and address health disparities impacting their community, simulating the steps and investment required to drive public health impact.
This session covers the creation of the program, lessons learned when working with students, and highlights the work of a student and her continued learning.
